  • VFC is seeking an Operations Analyst I to join our Houston, Texas office.  This position will analyze, track, and trend key operations measures in support of continuous improvement efforts.  This position will primarily focus on Compounding / Manufacturing related processes but as part of the overall Operations team will as needed be assigned analysis work related to Manufacturing (compounding), Fulfillment, and Call Center process areas in addition to automation related efforts.
  • The Operations Analyst I will be responsible for Data Analysis, Process Analysis including time studies used for the creation of standardized work expectations for projecting staffing requirements.
  • The Analyst will work with Excel and statistical software to create quantitative models to simulate problems and find solutions pertaining to inventory levels, slotting, basket analysis, budget constraints, logistics models and transportation schedules, in addition to arrival patterns of calls, faxes, orders and other activities that drive staffing levels.
  • The position will be responsible for 1st level support of the following systems:, Reporting, etc…
  • The position is expected to develop a strong interest and focus on continuous improvement using LEAN and potentially Six Sigma techniques.
  • The position will need to develop swim lane style work flow diagrams in the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) format, requirements documents and basic data analysis, charting and reporting.  This role calls for a self motivated, but strongly collaborative team player, who excels at working embedded in operational teams.


  • Gather detailed metrics and business requirements in support of continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Model behavior of key processes and systems.
  • Responsible for 1st level support of fulfillment related information systems including reporting, and training, etc…
  • Conduct time studies of key processes.
  • Support analysis requests from fulfillment management team members.
  • Track and trend exceptions.
  • Perform root cause analysis of exceptions (LEAN A3 analysis).
  • Interface with supporting vendors and company support functions as needed to accomplish assigned goals.
  • Coordinate work efforts with internal and external team members.
  • Participate in road map creation for assigned areas.
  • Conduct research tasks as assigned / needed.
  • Ensures adherence to locally defined standards for all developed artifacts.
  • Strive to continually improve the consistency, predictability and efficiency of analysis efforts.
  • Conducts acceptance testing of new processes and systems.
  • Conducts training on processes and systems as needed.
  • Provides reference material by writing documentation; providing support and help.


  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Logistics, Accounting, Computer Science or relevant discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience in analysis including data analysis, profiling and / or design.
  • Background in manufacturing, fulfillment / distribution and call centers desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Power BI suite.
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries.
  • Proficient with Data Warehouse concepts.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools, preferably R Studio.
  • Possess sound data analysis skills.
  • Possess strong teamwork skills.
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to synthesize data and report out in a succinct manner.
  • Proficiency with data analysis related technology.


  • Normal office environment with periodic travel required.
  • Work activities expected in company fulfillment centers, compounding pharmacies and call centers.
  • May be required to participate in inventory related processes and production activities from time to time.
